Well, I've been out of the classroom for over 8 weeks now and boy am I missing it! So...I was lucky enough to have my sister come over and watch my little one so I could head up to school for a few hours the other day. I needed to drop off the sweet apple valentines I had made ( you can see those here). I also wanted to help my sub with a few things and I HAD to see my kids. (Just because I have a babe of my own doesn't mean I forgot about my "other" kids!)
Upon my arrival, my kids were already on their way to special area, so I went ahead up popped upstairs to my classroom. The sweetest bulletin board was waiting for me once I stepped inside...
My marvelous sub had the students write me little "love notes" and had put them all up on the board so that I could read them when I came in! HOW STINKIN' CUTE is that?!? I almost teared up! When the kiddos finally came back from Music, I was greeted with new missing teeth grins, stories of their adventures, and LOTS of hugs. They were all bursting at the seams to share how well they'd had been doing with their academics - I wouldn't expect anything less :).
After all the stories were shared and questions answered it was time for them to go, and for me to get down to business! I went through and showed my sub a few things and shared a couple of ideas. Then she showed me this AWESOME Boggle board she had made for the class:
How fun is this?! And apple themed? She knows my taste! :) What a great idea for a Word Work Station or "I'm Done... Now What?" Activity. She made it from a poster board she had decorated with border and then laminated it. Then she used Velcro to attach the letters. I went ahead and whipped up this little recording sheet so the kids can use it when they play! I can't wait for her to use it! Click the page to download a copy for yourself!
Well, I currently have no plans of returning to my room again... but I am sure I will find I reason! It is hard going this long with out seeing those bright shining faces!

I bet they loved your visit. Sounds like you have a great sub. :)
